Quick Update on This Blog

Disclaimer: Don't bother reading this if you're thinking this has some free therapy stuff, it's just a little love letter, lol.

Hi guys!

I'm real sorry I haven't been able to update this site (and my other one too) for quite some time. I checked and the last post I did was way back end of January! Here are some lame excuses I have for not checking in:

1. I started working weekdays! I added a few more days to my work day (singular, yes, lol I know), and my stagnating butt has become quite used to lounging around and not doing anything that when I got busy again I couldn't find much time for anything online.

2. Career change! I went through the hassle of taking exams in order to study all over again. Oh hello again, studies! *Insert resigned sigh right here* I'm more of the come what may person and I got logicked (yes, that is a made up word) into taking up studies again. However, when I decide to go with something, I stick to it, so here's to making the most out of med schools!

3. I resigned from work! Lol, just a few months and I resigned in order to go full time with number 2. So I've been doing double duty trying to finish all my papers before I go.

However, all is not lost! I still plan on putting stuff up on this site (I will not let all the hours I did self-studying about website layouting and customizations go to waste! Even if I still need to learn a lot! Anyone know some place I can take up seminars/workshops for website creations?) and I'm still taking suggestions on content to add here. So here's to cheering myself on! Hoorah!

Filipino Social Stories: Si Motmot Kulangot & Si Bonbon Dapat Tularan

Today I'm uploading two social stories in Filipino! Social stories are such great ways to teach children about appropriate social skills, don't you agree? These two stories come in rhyming verse in a PDF format and all credits go to my colleagues who made these during internship year. Much kudos to my friend Nikki for the art in these books (I really need to coerce you into making more for SP materials haha)!

So without further ado, here are the goodies!

Get the first book, "Si Motmot Kulangot"  to teach children the consequences of picking their nose--no one wants someone else's booger on them!

Get the second book for school kids as it puts emphasis on classroom skills such as looking and listening to the teacher/speaker and greeting others.

Parent Post: The Importance of Home Carry-Over

Hi everyone!

Once again, it's the holidays! And that means...vacation time! This generally means two things for therapy: one: your child with special needs will spend more of his time at home, and two: he will spend even less time with his speech pathologist.
